Iota Data Structure Standards
The data structures need to be declared and standard to a minimal degree. With that we mean that the standard should not contain semantics, no large code tables, but only a standard way of referring to other tables, standard or not.
The first, and arguably most important, standard is how issue templates and issue worksheets should look. Since both the issue templates and the issue worksheets must be exchangeable between systems, all involved systems must be able to read and write the same basic structure. There is no reason to prohibit alternative structures if a need for that is apparent, but any branching of this commonality will make interconnections more difficult, so such branching is strongly discouraged. Extensions of the common standard issue template and worksheet syntax are, however, encouraged.
See the Issue Template Syntax page for details.
